A participation of WOODEN SA, developed by BPI Real Estate and IKO Real Estate, has been sold to ACRON

A participation of WOODEN SA, held by BPI Real Estate and IKO Real Estate, which currently constructs the WOODEN office building in Leudelange, has been sold to ACRON GmbH.

Located in the city of Leudelange, in the direct suburb of Luxemburg City, WOODEN, a 9.462 sqm building is the first wooden office building of this scale in Luxembourg. With the double certification WELL Building standard and BREEAM excellent, WOODEN will offer to its two tenants Bâloise insurances and CLE perfect working conditions.

Designed by ArtBuild architects, the building lets visible its load-bearing structure (exoskeleton, columns and slabs) entirely made of wood and steel. The wood used comes exclusively from sustainable forests in the greater region. In these PEFC-certified forests, when a tree is cut down, one or two other specimens are necessarily replanted. Thus, over the life of the building, the forest will have recovered what was taken from it during the project.

The construction of the building, which started end 2020, was entrusted to CLE and Wood Shapers (CFE group), specialists in the construction of buildings composed mainly of wood and other hybrid alternatives that reduce the carbon footprint.

According to Eric Lux (IKO Real Estate) and Arnaud Regout,  (BPI Real Estate), “WOODEN is an expression of our group's strategy to develop low-carbon projects with a focus on sustainable developments. The interest of investors in Wooden is an excellent sign that reinforces our common strategy.”

For this transaction, the seller was assisted by Dentons and Cushman & Wakefield and the buyer by Arendt & Medernach and Inowai.
