Developed in Luxembourg and now implemented across several European countries, the Low Carbon Building Initiative (LCBI) assesses the carbon performance of buildings throughout their entire life cycle. Achieving the Excellence level reflects a particularly ambitious approach, based on a detailed analysis of embodied carbon emissions associated with materials, construction, operation and end-of-life phases.

Presented during SIBCA by Arnaud Regout, CEO of BPI Real Estate Luxembourg, and Frédéric Vingtans, Head of Sustainability, the certification demonstrates the company's determination to place climate considerations at the heart of its development decisions. It also reflects the commitment of a broad ecosystem of partners, including Énergie & Environnement, Certivea, design teams, architects and engineering consultants, whose expertise helped identify and implement practical solutions to reduce the project's carbon footprint.

Beyond the performance of a single building, this distinction demonstrates the ongoing evolution of Luxembourg's real estate sector towards increasingly ambitious environmental standards. It shows that decarbonisation objectives can be integrated from the earliest stages of design without compromising architectural quality, functionality or the attractiveness of a development.
